November 13, 2024 - Product Spotlight: PCX-7421
Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation takes pride in our DEI High Voltage line of products. Complete with high voltage pulse generators and pulsed laser diode drivers, BNC brings a lot to the table when it comes to applications demanding specs that deliver. Let's take a look at our product of the week: the PCX-7421.
If you're looking for the right solution to drive arrays, bars, and diode lasers, the PCX-7421 is a powerful option. It's an air-cooled CW/QCW current source that enables the user to change the pulsed output current from 50 mA to 21.5 A. The rising time is less than 25 ns, and the pulse width can be adjusted between 50 ns and 500 ms. While utilizing the internal pulse source, the pulse repetition rate can be chosen between 40 Hz and 100,000 Hz. While using an external source, it can be chosen between single-shot and 1 MHz.
Both CW (DC) and QCW (pulsed) outputs are available on the PCX-7421. It can be used as a pulsed/QCW driver at currents between 50 mA and 21.5 A, and as a CW driver at currents between 3.0 A and 5.8 A. Additionally, the output can be pulsed above this bias current up to a maximum of 15.7 after being biased to any CW current between 0.050 A and 5.8 A. The bias current can now be pulsed and activated separately from the main current thanks to a new functionality.
