Model 870A | 10 MHz to 54 GHz Single or Multi Channel Signal Generator

The Model 870A Signal Generator is a new solution from Berkeley Nucleonics that offers ultra-high agility and ultra-low phase noise from 100 kHz to 54 GHz. The unit offers a redesigned touchscreen interface, making the front panel control of the instrument intuitive and efficient. The output stage filtering includes new methods for signal management which result in excellent harmonics and minimized spurious outputs. The standard units offer switching speeds down to 500 μs, and the Fast Switching (FS) option allows users further to reduce switching speeds to a blazing 15 µs. The Model 870A can be connected by Ethernet, USB, or GPIB making it ideal for a broad range of applications in lab, production, or research-based.

The Model 870A is offered in a 1, 2, 3, or 4-channel configuration. The multi-channel configuration comes in a standard 19" 2U rack-mountable enclosure, perfect for those with scalability in mind.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

RF Configuration Options | What are the differences between LN and LN+?

RF Configuration Options | What are the differences between LN and LN+?

The key difference between LN and LN+ is that LN+ will have better long-term performance—for example, a better Allan variance for a longer time. For short-time performance, they are identical.

Here's another example...Option LN adds a 100 MHz OCXO on the ref board, applying to all channels. Option LN+ will do the same. The only difference is that the OCXO will have better long-term stability.

You can incorporate either LN or LN+. Options can't be combined and priced per unit.
