Warranty Details
Berkeley Nucleonics offers service options to ensure your instrumentation is functioning well and meets published specifications. Our Test and Service departments offer qualified technicians and application engineers to address your performance requirements. To ensure system performance, we recommend a three-year extended service agreement and warranty for new and in-use instrumentation, complete with NIST traceability and priority handling. Records are maintained on both the customer agency and product serial number should your unit change hands among colleagues. Your service agreement and warranty are automatically transferred to new equipment users in or outside your organization.
COVERAGE START DATE
For new shipments, coverage begins on the date of shipment. For systems in current use, coverage begins on the initial contract date, and is subject to product inspection and product updates to current revision level.
ANNUAL CALIBRATION
To arrange for the return of an instrument for annual calibration using NIST Traceable Standards, contact the BNC Customer Service Department at 800-234-7858 or by email. If your application requires no down-time, ask for a loaner at the same time. Calibration will be expedited, and the system will be returned domestic freight prepaid.
DOCUMENTATION
User manuals, application notes, short how-to articles and videos are updated and made available to service agreement subscribers annually. An email will periodically update you as to new availability.
REPAIR
Should your BNC instrument fail or degrade in performance while in use, contact BNC for a priority return authorization. The unit will be repaired and returned expeditiously with domestic freight prepaid. Note that some parts such as source lasers and detector crystals, or parts damaged by mishandling are not covered by the standard service agreement.
USER COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP
As new application support materials, videos and procedures are created, your contract allows you to take advantage of our User Community database and email distribution list. Often, we can pair you with users in your field, or in your geographical region.
UNLIMITED TECH SUPPORT
At BNC, we understand that the nature of your work is application specific. HARDWARE UPGRADES
Upgrades to your instrument hardware will be made at no additional charge as parts become obsolete, or better performing components are available. Enhancements such as increased output power, reduced phase noise or front panel mechanical updates are all included.
FIRMWARE/SOFTWARE UPGRADES
Additional operating modes and functional refinements, operating system upgrades, Labview drivers and other firmware and software items will be made readily available. Software updates also improve compatibility with other instruments, modulation and isotope libraries and GUI response times.
